Rainy Day Ramblings

It's rainy today. First time in weeks, which under normal circumstances would be a welcomed event. But y'all it rained close to nonstop for almost three months during this winter. It was so wet that when spring finally rolled around I had to postpone planting my hyacinth outdoors because the ground was just to wet for the bulbs to be transplanted.

I ended up potting 4 of them and leaving the rest in the planters they came in. I finally got them out into the ground this past Monday.  On the bright side, my house smelled amazing for days. I never realized how strong hyacinth smell in large bunches. I do believe it is my new favorite smell.

Hayley's begrudgingly working on her school work. She's so much like me when it's rainy all I want to do is curl up with a good book or movie. It's hard to be productive on days like today. We are so close to being done with our school year though and I really don't want to have to do too much over the summer. Which means she isn't getting the day off, no matter how gloomy it is.

I almost didn't write today, but I know I need to get into the habit of posting daily. It's been so many years since I've done this. And with wanting to blog in a different way it's vital I get used to writing what is on my mind not making up a post just for views.  I'm hoping this will be a case of  "if you build it they will come". (shhhh let's pretend I'm not telling my age there okay, thanks)

It's movie night tonight, well mom's movie night. I take one night a month to veg out to one of my favorite movies with no kids and no husband. Tonight's movie of choice is Empire Records.

I do not regret the things I have done, but those I did not do.
Empire Records is one of my favorite movies from my teenage years. It's my generations Breakfast Club. I've "been" each character over the years growing up. From the slutty girl to the ubber depressed one. And of course there's the fact that Rex Manning Day is coming up, usually, I watch the movie on April 8th but I have plans that night. So early it is.

Okay enough rambling and putting off adulting. Kyla needs to be picked up from school and I'm sure there is laundry to be done.

Till tomorrow.
